Lord if You are willing, You can make me clean

In Luke 5, a man with leprosy, approached the Lord and asked Him that question.

Jesus replied: "I am willing, be cleaned."

Just simple strong words. "I am willing" means that the Lord wants to heal you. Yes also you. "Be cleaned" is a command to the person, not only for the illness to flee but deeper, in his soul and daily actions and ways to be cleaned from sin, from wrongful ways, from wickedness, to pure in heart and to continue to do so.

He also reminded the man to go to the priest and present himself to them as the custom of the law of Moses.

I asked what wrongs have the man done to became a leper. Leprosy which was a plague with boils, and scores and once contracted the person was declared unclean and were not allowed in society.

The Lord took me to Leviticus 13 and 14 describing the way they were to deal with leprosy, and the person so also his or her belongings. This was a severe illness.

Numbers 12, Miriam the sister of Moses, and Aaron spoke against the wife of Moses as he was married to an Ethiopian woman and they judged his wife, finding her 'less' based on her ethnic group. They also started to view Moses in a different way of "Has the Lord indeed spoken only through Moses?"

The Lord overhearing this, called all three, asking them in the presence of Moses. "Why were you not afraid to speak against My servant Moses?" Moses being chosen and anointed by the Lord and them despite having evidence thereof did not have fear in their hearts and questioned the Lord's motive of whom He choose to use.

The Lord's anger was aroused and Miriam became white as snow, a leper. Aaron pleaded with the Lord. "Please do not let her be as one dead, whose flesh is half consumed when he come out of his mother's womb"

The Lord replied "If her father had but spit in her face would she not be ashamed seven days?" The Lord only lightly bestowed wrath on her as a warning to change her ways and behavior.

This is a reminder to all as even in this the Lord has shown her mercy and not matter her 'status' of being so close to the Lord being Moses sister and also was invited into the presence of the Lord during those days, that He does not overlook our ways due to achievements nor status. Indeed He search the hearts of each one and look at the intent thereof before He gives judgement. He is a righteous judge.

Should calamity befalls a nation or a person and it was the judgment of the Lord, then He had indeed searched their ways and their hearts before He allowed the judgement to take place.

Revelation 16:2 speaks of the first bowls: So the first went and poured out his bowl upon the earth and a foul and loathsome sore came upon those who had the mark of the beast and those who worship his image.
