Romans 6:14
14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the [h]gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
7:2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
In this we became dead to the law through the body of Christ, that we can marry another. Our Maker is our Husband.
So that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.
Old - the letter of the law was what drove us to obedience, the source of our conviction and way.
New - the Spirit is who teach and guide us to be the source we walk in 'walk according to the Spirit'.
The law teaches us knowledge about sin to use as a guide or measure. Yet the law is spiritual and since we are carnal we need spiritual guidance.
15 For what I am doing, I do not understand.
We all sin, yet did not understand how sin worked or what is behind that sinful action as sin is not just a law being broken but a wicked spirit tied to it whom indeed has a plan to direct those who cling to sin, to death. Yet you need to seek being taught by the Spirit of the Lord in His ways on how to understand the wicked spirit behind that sin, to be delivered from it and also from which action opening the door, giving access through your actions which were not alignment with God's. Remember the enemy has a right to torment and oppress those who sin. Yet sin can also be hidden and you may not even be aware of a hidden sin since the enemy wants not a soul to be free from sin and sinful ways as no sin will enter into the kingdom of the Lord.
So since the law is spiritual and transgressions are not always easy to detect by our own human eyes as the enemy is cleaver in deceiving and twisting truths, one needs to seek communion with the Lord daily. For how can a man do a thing that you do no have the practice or knowledge of.
For what I will to do, that I do not practice.
To practice is to walk in the way of the Lord, being daily transformed as we are not hearers of the gospel but a living gospel, our actions to reflect the ways of the Lord.
Romans 8: 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Setting their minds on things of the flesh, is worldly ways, ideology, yet not seeking the source who have all the wisdom and understanding of all things. Our Creator who gave us His Spirit to dwell in those who invite Him into their hearts and surrender all to Him on His altar of wisdom to seek His guidance and answers instead of trying to figure it out in human understanding.
Yet faith unlock, as without believing in what He says to be truth in our lives, how can anyone see the Way, nor walking in it if one does not belief, nor be willing to let Him work and transform us?
8 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
This is quite a popular verse use by many yet some one see the first half and not the second half of the verse. Those who walk in worldly ways, those are lukewarm as they sit at both tables, who do not leave the ways of the world but still cling to it, not willing to let go of things that are not of God.
Do you know that the enemy's gift is music? Through music and songs deceiving many to worship him by listening to songs about lust, greed, hate 'love', songs that exalt the 'self' above the Lord? And what about movies? I too once did those things, yet see it in a new light as having been taught to see the wicked spirit behind it and the damage it is doing in the spirit not in the flesh. The enemy's plan is for those not to seek the truth, as the only way is through Jesus Christ. Let Him be your teacher. He ascended and is seated at the right hand of God Almighty and left His Spirit to dwell in us, yet you have to ask to be filled by His Spirit.
